Police are investigating after a woman's body was found on Friday morning near the former New Rochelle Naval Armory.
Investigators have taped off the area near the Armory and East Main Street has been cordoned off.
The woman was found lying in the driveway of 270 Main St. at about 7:40 a.m., according to the New Rochelle Police Department.
The cause of death has not been released, nor has the woman's identity.
Based on its findings this incident is being investigated as a homicide at this time, police said.
Detectives from the Department’s General Investigations and Forensic Units were dispatched to the scene and are currently investigating the incident.
The Westchester County District Attorney’s and Medical Examiner’s Offices have also been notified.
The cause of death and victim’s identity have not been determined, police said.
